Q:What’s the connection between the results from infrared thermometer and mercury thermometer?
A:There’s no direct connection between those two types of thermometers.
1. Different parts of the human body have different temperature. Mercury thermometers are major to test temperature of mouth, anus, and underarm. Infrared thermometers are designed to test forehead temperature. The temperature of mouth and anus are internal temperature, which is much higher than the temperature of the forehead and underarm. As for the different degree of heat dissipation, the temperature between the latter two parts also has no fixed connections.
2. Different thermometers will also affect testing results. A large amount of data show that even mercury thermometers from the same factory and the same batch will also have 0.3C-0.5C errors when testing the same part of the body as for different diameters and different amount of mercury.
3. Infrared thermometers are only recommended to test forehead temperature. As human arteries pass through the temples, forehead temperature can accurately represent human temperature. The infrared thermometer is designed to catch forehead temperature and processed those data by internal arithmetic and temperature compensation.
Q: Why it shows LO when testing a different part of the human body?
A:When LO occurs, it means the testing result is less than 32C. The reasons for low temperature are following.
1. Wrong testing method: The right method is aiming to the forehead, pressing the testing button and waiting for the result. Don’t move your head until the temperature shows on the screen, otherwise, you may get the air temperature.
2. Long testing distance: Long testing distance may give you wrong answers as it’s maybe the air temperature. Please pay attention to the testing distance before testing.
3. Obstructions: Hair or sweat may cause the wrong answer.
4. Testing environment: Large temperature difference will also affect the result. So we do not recommend you do a test if you have just back from an environment which was too hot or too cold, or after exercises. Please pay attention to the testing environment and stay in that environment at least 20 minutes before do any testing.
5. Incorrect parameter setting: The original error setting is not 0.0. You can enter the menu to correct it back to 0.0.
Q:Why it shows high temperature for people who do not have a fever?
A:The reasons may as follow. Testing environment: Large temperature difference will affect the testing results. People who just came back from a hot environment, had a strong emotional fluctuation, or did exercises will get a high temperature. Please keep calm and stay in the room for 20 minutes before testing.
Q:Why the thermometer cannot turn on after pressing the start button?
A:Please change the batteries and try again. If it still does not work, please contact the after-sales.
Q:Is it harmful to health when taking the test? Is there any radiation?
A:The basic working theory of infrared thermometer is using the infrared sensor to detect the infrared ray which dissipates by the human body and change it to data shows on the LCD. The thermometer will not dissipate any infrared ray; even do not contact any skin, so please feel free when using it.
